Variation to the admissions arrangements for September 2022

The Governing Body of Dawpool CofE (Aided) Primary School have made a variation to the admissions arrangements for admission to Foundation Stage 2 in September 2022 in response to a new admissions code which is due to come into force on 1st September 2021. From 1st September Paragraph 1.7 of the new Code will require that highest priority is given to:

Looked after children and all previously looked after children, including those children who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted” (See page 3 of Admissions Policy 2022-23).

The variation in respect of the over-subscription criteria relating to church attendance remains in place for 2022-23. This variation has been made in order to deal lawfully, fairly and transparently with admissions matters in the exceptional circumstances of the COVID19 pandemic.

The variation is as follows:

“In the event that during the period specified for attendance at worship the church has been closed for public worship and has not provided alternative premises for that worship, the requirements of these [admissions] arrangements in relation to attendance will only apply to the period when the church or alternative premises have been available for public worship” (See page 3-4 of Admissions Policy 2022-23)
