Welcome to Week Commencing 11th January 2021 - Week 2

Hello everyone and welcome to a new week of Home Learning. I hope you are all doing well and home and staying Happy and Healthy. I really do miss you all and wish I had a very noisy classroom again!!

Why don’t you send me some pictures of all the things you have been up to? Have you been on any new walks? Baked any yummy cakes? Or have you watched a new film that you think I might like? Please let me know, I can’t wait to hear from you all.

Much love Mrs P

We start our new topic this term The Time Machine. We will be travelling back in time to learn some information relevant to ourselves, our families and our local community.

Literacy: "To write a Lost poster for a missing toy based upon our new book ‘Lost in the Toy Museum’ by David Lucas.

Phonics: In Phonics, we will be starting Phase 5 and learning the new sound 'oy like oi'

Maths: To refresh our memories, this week we will focus on Number Bonds to 10.

History: The Time Machine. This week we will travel back in time to when your parents were young and look at the different types of toys they played with.

Science: Our focus this half term is ‘Everyday Materials’. This week we will sort objects into wood, plastic, glass, material and metal. We will also discuss if they are hard or soft.

RE: The Kingdom of God – This week we will look at The Parable of the Mustard Seed.

PE: The topic this half term is Dance. We will be dancing through the seasons. This week we will be ice dancing.

Forest Schools: Friday afternoons will continue to be our fun Forest School time. So get ready to wrap up warm and venture into the outdoors. Maybe you could find an exciting new walk to go on each week? Or why not stick to the same location but try a new route. You never know what you might find!

Below are plans of the weeks learning. I will try and add as many resources as possible to support home learning. If you require anything else, just let me know.

Whilst I have attached sheets that you can print, these are for additional tasks. All of the main Phonics, Maths and Topic activities can be done without printing the worksheets.
